The days leading to now...

Ok, I've got a little catching up to do.  I purchased my custom Wayne Home back in April, 2013.  This was officially the happiest day of my life, tho I'm sure that dig day will clearly override this day!  If anyone has ever doubted that Wayne Homes is a custom builder, they are most definitely mistaken.  My home will be proof that Wayne Homes can do just about anything when it comes to customizing their floor plans!  Wayne homes was my one and only choice for a builder!  From the moment I entered their model center, was greeted by their sales team, I knew I walked into something different.  This was something I haven't seen before from any other builder I looked at.  Their passion and desire to uncover what exactly it is that I want in a home and provide suggestions on possible floor plans that meet my needs was very rewarding to see.  You could just tell it was all about the customer experience.  They actually cared about me!  I got the feeling that I was their only customer and I loved that because I knew that was not the case as there were multiple families at the model center that day.

The sales process:  the sales process for me was a bit rocky, tho no fault of any of the Wayne Homes employees.  They were absolutely amazing at making sure the house was just as I wanted it.  It would however help a little if I knew what I wanted!  I am clearly way more indecisive than I could have ever imagined.  But every person I encountered in the process was right there to help guide me, share their thoughts and recommendations and then left it up to me for the final decision.  I value their expertise as they are, in my eyes, the best in the business!

The color meeting:  ok, I could have done a little more planning prior to this meeting that's for sure.  I recommend that everyone explore the design center prior to the selection meeting.  You will be glad you did, especially if you are terrible at making decisions like I am.  My customer consultant was amazing!  She made the meeting go smoothly and her background in interior design was like having my very own designer helping me design my dream home!  I took tons of pictures of my selections so I could remember exactly what I chose.  My house became very real at this point.  It was no longer just a dream, it was reality.  I was choosing my flooring, countertops, cabinets, etc for the house I have dreamed about for so many years.  It was an absolutely amazing experience!

The Lot Inspection/Pre Construction Meeting:  My field manager is nothing short of AMAZING!!!  He was calm, cool ( well not exactly cool, it was 95 degrees that day) and collected, very professional and knowledgable.  When we first arrived at the lot, he explained exactly what we were going to accomplish today.  I knew right then we were going to get along because he seemed to be a "checklist" kind of guy!! We took a few measurements, used the laser to shoot the grade and then it was time... Time to place the first stake in the ground marking the corner of my garage.  I seriously almost cried at this moment.  Never again would I drive by and look at an empty lot!  I'd drive by to see my house staked out!  If it wasn't real prior to this, it sure was real now!!!  I had to pinch myself as I couldn't believe I was actually building my dream home!  After the lot inspection which lasted a couple hours, we went back to the office and I saw my prints from the CAD department.  Of course I saw a few things I didn't like (again, not Wayne Homes fault at all, 100% mine) but in working with my customer consultant we got everything perfect, just as I've imagined it!  We went over all the fine details of the prints, the grade, water/sewer locations, etc.  I could not have been more pleased with how thorough they were, no stone was left unturned!  I made a few more changes with some of my color selections.  After a few more hours and one very happy soon-to-be homeowner, the meeting was complete.  I was kind of sad I wasn't going to be meeting with my customer consultant anymore as I felt she was part of my family.  The amount of time she had invested in me and my home, making sure it was perfect, will never go unnoticed.  The day I move in I am going to know I couldn't have accomplished this without her.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the amazing employees at Wayne Homes!

Ok, now we sit back and wait for the bank to close my loan.... It should be any day now!
